Before my vision loss, most of my photography used to be social documentary "street" photography. After the changes to my vision, I started to document the street as I experience it, as an environment of guiding lines and waypoints.
This photo has been digitally retouched.
Generally, I photograph what seems interesting within a square of roughly 250x250 m, not far from my house. Of late, puddles have started to fascinate me. I have marked the minimum focus distance of the lens I used most on my cane: when I notice something interesting, I'll feel around for it, measure out the focus, put the camera on my shoe and shoot. I shoot my lenses wide open: this achieves a very narrow focus plane with the lenses I use. The presence of people is still an important aspect to my work, so I tend to listen for the presence of people so as to get them inside the frame.
