  I'm not quite sure what the butler was supposed to see but maybe he would have been as startled as you! I'm not so sure about keeping the mask in colour: it turns the whole exercise into a double joke and distracts from the 'butler' idea. I like the fact that you have broken the laws of composition though, and placed the direction of gaze close to that edge and compensated with the bed headboard on the other side.
