This is atop what is called Eagle Rock, in Eagle Rock, California. I always wanted to do long exposure work up here at night. I shot this with a 15mm fish eye on a Canon 40D. I used my friend and live view to focus and figure out where I wanted to stand. Then I hit the timer stood where he did and when the shutter opened he took my 420ex and flashed me from the left side of the camera. After the flash I walked out of frame and waited for the 30 second exposure to finish. It took me many tries to get the effect of myself in conjunction with the cityscape behind me.

This photo has been digitally retouched.

Minor level adjustments and a slight crop.
