love this..there are so many people and so much going on around the woman, and you've captured her perfectly.

It is a great picture of the woman but personally I would have cropped the sides more. The right hand sides leads in nicely but the left hand is just an obstruction. I wonder if it is possible to artificially vignette it so it fades in like the right hand side does?

rules for me are: never crop and basically don't ever do anything that can't be done in a dark room. So brightness & contrast - ok, slight color balance ok. No retouching, cut and pasting etc If i want vignette i use film and not even a lens filter, i really feel if a photo isn't right when you take it just leave it and move on. especially with digital, its so disposable and throw away. I take so many photos every day! the skill is knowing what a good photo is.

You have some fabulous shots, love the way you see thing. I agree with you about knowing extinctevly what is a good photo, doesn't matter what type of camera you use to take the shot. Cartier-Bresson refreshingly took thousands of crap photographs, but we only see the great ones. Why does it matter if it takes you lots of shots to get the right one? Who is counting? Digital photography is a marvel and stops it being elitist.
