Sorry, I hope I didn't scare anyone. View On Black Shot with existing light from a window on a rainy day. This is my first attempt at a self portrait since I got the Rebel XSi That necklace I'm wearing isn't for "Bling". It's magnetic and really helps keep me limber. Much better than the bracelets. My Profile: This is my life (so far) in a nutshell. I finished school early and joined a road band. Toured Canada and some of the USA until I turned 24. This is where I learned that less is more (by living out of a suitcase). Got tired of seeing the same cities over and over so I bought a bike, flysheet and a bedroll. I visited every city in Canada almost over the next 5 years and lots of the USA. I've lived under bridges, in ghost towns, in trees, under trees :-), on beaches and even dug out snowbanks. I always had a YMCA card so I could SSS (Sh*t, shower and shave) in style. I'm a master camper and a retired mountain man – too old for all that now. I had saved enough to buy a house by my 30th birthday so I did and I moved indoors. I tried living like everybody else but it Sucks :-) (Sorry everybody else). I still managed to do enough things right that I could retire at age 47. I ain't rich but I is happy :-) That's what counts – right? In the boredom of retirement I picked up my first DSLR in October of '08 and have been filling in my time learning the craft. As you can see from my photostream I started out shooting landscapes but got into home studio stuff last winter. Spring is at the doorstep and I might take a part time job to get some exercise this year – I'll still carry my camera around though. I might even bump up to some better equipment this year - and even a Flickr Pro account :-) My favourite activities are sleeping in and playing with the TV remote :-) Just kidding. Well... that's me Equipment: XSi, $20 tripod (no-name), some lights from Lowe's and Home Depot, some PVC from Home Hardware, a bag from a lawn chair to carry my tripod and some hiking boots so I have a better chance of getting where I need to be to take the shot. Oh yeah, I have a black cat named Incubus who likes to sleep on my chest.
