This is one picture from a series of picture I am currently working on that I call 'Dolls'. It is about how the doll is aimed at little irls as a treasued toy, however I have never liked them and always been rather afraid of them. The way they are a lifeless object that immitates life. Immitates humans. So here I am a human immitating a doll. This showing the way a doll is so lifelike but so dead at the same time. Playing on what frightens me about them. Also dolls are a popular subject in horror. The possesed doll that people write off as an inanimate object, but possess areal (and usually evil) soul. I also have never liked dolls as I see them as a way of teaching young girls to be mothers. They immediately put importance and expectance upon young girls to become domesticated.

Amazing concept and I think you've captured it well, would really love to see the others in the collection. The expression and image is very intimidating and I feel like I understand well the message you're trying to convey.

This is an interesting idea, which has resulted in rather curious photograph. The costume of the main subject works very well and indeed the figure is extremely doll like. I do feel that the image would have greater impact if the scene were not so brightly and uniformly lit - too much information and not enough mystery and narrative. It might be work better to place the model in a situation that tells the viewer something more about the subject of the piece. A good example of this can be seen in the early work of Cindy Sherman

Striking and disturbing at the same time. Thats a good thing, you will not forget this image. The lighting could be toned down abit for more shadows, I looked at your camera spec and I have read of a method for doing this. The low cost and spec method is to get a small square of grease proof paper semi transparent and hang it slightly infront of the flash (no where near the lens) so the flash is dispersed more. Cellotape (fold paper in half tube so light escapers) etc. or for more distance stick it to a lolly stick (tongue depressor) from top of the camera so it hangs in front. Different papers give different results. Very cheap method :) Going to view your Flickr account.

Counter to earlier comments about lighting and shadows, I would say that your objective is met more fully (and less following the current vogue in photography) by the manner you have employed here because it brings right to the fore the realism of what you are talking about, whereas the suggestions try and prettify the situation.
