The Leech Seller
I was standing in Mugla Market, Turkey when I became aware that the old lady behind me was shouting and waving her walking stick - a younger lady aopproached and, digging into her pantaloons, produced plasticbottles containing leeches; the old lady selected a bottle; money was exchanged and the leech seller stuffed the remaining jars deep into her pantaloon pockets and sped off. The whole transaction took less than a minute - I'd no time to prepare the perfect shot but just pointed and pressed the button - using son (in his wheelchair) to shield me as I felt my intrusive camera would not be welcomed. I hoped the leeches provided the cure the old lady was after!
