About Me

13531892@N02

Over 40. Bought my first SLR (Zenith) at about 17 with my first weeks wages from a summer job. Next was an Olympus Om-10 then Olympus OM-4 which I still love and use on low light work because of its fantastic OTF metering and quiet shutter. Currently also using a Nikon D-50 for digital work until my finances improve :-)

I agree with a lot of what you say about style. I go along with you over McCullen but my list has grown a lot in the last six months or so.

Thanks. No I probably don't do much black & white. I like them but I am not very good at seeing B&W so it tends to get done as a last resort when I cannot get the colour picture I want. I should spend some time working on that. Thanks for the nudge.

Some time back Robin you asked me about effects used for an image of a young man running: I have come across an unflattened version which shows a soft focus layer. Hope this is of interest! Best wishes, Anthony.

My Favourite Style

I photograph to preserve what I see. Sometimes it is landscape, sometimes it is urban landscape that is about to be lost. I am also very fond of low light events, concerts, shows etc. Not fond of staged or constructed photographs. I don't even use my tripod or flash very often as I prefer natural light and opportunistic shots

My Influences

I love Victorian documentary photographs and I am interested in history which might explain why I why I photograph vanishing urban landscapes.

My Inspiration

Don McCullen, Khaldei, Fay Godwin. I would not try to copy their style but I like their work and their methods.
