I'm motivated by visual images, both still and moving, and how the ever-emerging user-generated media landscape is increasing the power of what we see in the world. I'm fascinated by things I see everyday, that aren't captured in the daily news. I think it is exciting that people everywhere are sharing images they choose to present from the world. In some cases, someone's visual image becomes a pivotal depiction of an historic event. Recent examples include the protests of the Monks in Burma and London's 7/7 bombings. A mobile camera, a video camera or a digital camera give everyone the opportunity to be a a citzen journalist. In business, I head a multimedia communications company based in London called the Hai Media Group where I am trying to help my client's with visual branding strategy that complements their PR efforts. People, Barbed wire, empty benches, moss, plants, lost gloves, abandoned appliances, pavement, personal experiences, natural light, story telling and occasionally -- too much alcohol.
I'm inspired by: Older people, interesting people, people I know, people I like, people that I know a little bit about and sometimes random people on night's out. I'm inspired by: nature, the colour green, light striking something just right, evening light, film noir-style light, textures and close ups because that is all my camera is really good for. I'm inspired by: Things that feel eerie to me, such as barbed wire, empty benches and the texture and position of pavement.
