A photograph that expresses the human disposition is going to hold my attention longer.
Films, Novels, Paintings, other photographers, such as Walker Evans, Katy Grannan, Arthur Tress, overheard conversations.
I find old cameras inspiring, especially my hasselbald, if I didn't find taking pictures so fun I wouldn't do it. I like collecting as many cameras as I can and trying out all sorts of different film through them. I also find watching films and writing ideas down on the bus keeps my creative cogg’s going. And of course I find several photographers very inspiring, the fearless Katy Grannan for one.
