Cover Up / Reveal
With the advent of summer clothes change, skin is flashed or protected from ultraviolet rays, fashion is paraded, colours abound. The theme is Clothes - covering up or revealing.
Just picked up an interesting tome from my local second-hand bookshop by the recently appointed poet laureate, Carol Ann Duffy - Out of Fashion, an anthology of pomes about how we dress and undress. Contemporary poets choose their favourite poem from another time or culture about people covering up or revealing through fashion. So that's the inspiration for the new project. "Gay Fashion thou Goddess so pleasing, However imperious thy sway; Like a mistress capricious and teasing, Thy slaves tho' they murmur obey."
