Picture This - A Friendly Place to Improve Your Photography

My Passion: A Personal Project

Do this one out of passion; this personal project is your chance to make us understand what’s important to you and why. To reach out through the lens and tell the story of the thing, the place, the person that inspires you, fires you up and matters to you most.

What are you passionate about? What’s your obsession? What do you wish the whole world knew about? Where do you get your energy from?

It could be your favourite view, your bed, dancing, the meal you just made, your kid playing peek-a-boo, your morning bike ride, your bike…

It could be the state of the world today, human rights abuses, your recent break-up, sexism, the worst thing that ever happened to you.

Let your camera speak your piece. Make us understand what’s important to you and why. We’re looking to be moved. We’re looking for humour, tenderness, anger, simplicity. But most of all we’re looking for passion to shine through the lens and back again.

And don’t forget, a picture may tell a thousand words but there are always a few left unsaid. Be sure to add a description to this piece that explains why, out of all the myriad of options, this was the photo you decided to take.

i love this site - its great that it links with flickr, i am a total flickr addict but the focus of this site on constructive criticism and improvement is really useful - i look forward to some comments and hope that peple viit my flickr photostream also :)

this site is amazing! i love the challenges set by the tasks, though i've only submitted stuff i'd already taken so far. i hope it continues forever, i can't wait to go out and take more! only just signed up but will take some time to look at other people's images and comment, and any comments on mine of course would be great too!

Please all comments are most welcome special for some one like me so new to Photography, post your suggestions, like what can I improve how to do it, I have only a compact camera a Olympus Camedia D-575-Zoom I am saving for a Nikon D40X, also let me know if that's a good choice for a DSLR. I have a Cannon 35mm AT1 I bought a few years ago to a friend, never use it before; some expert advice as well will be most welcome... Cheers everyone
